The phone rings while you're on the roof.
Storm and leak call-outs, quotes that go quiet, and reviews that never get asked for. I come out to trades in person across Manchester, Bolton, Stockport, Cheshire and the North West. I build the website, and on a content day I film and photograph the work for the site and your socials. Handed over from day one if you pay upfront, or after your 12th monthly payment: a full copy of the files and code, or the site moved into an account in your name. Then missed calls texted back, on a monthly plan.
You can't pick up. The customer rings the next firm.
A third of micro businesses failed to answer incoming calls, and 69% of callers who reached voicemail hung up without leaving a message (Moneypenny, 2016).
On a roof, in the wind, or driving between jobs, that's the whole morning. A leak at 2am is the same problem after you've packed the van away. The customer with water coming through the ceiling does not wait until you climb down.
The other jobs pile up around it. The quote from Thursday's survey sits until Sunday. The customer who was happy with the re-roof never gets asked for a Google review. Last winter's guttering job doesn't hear from you until the next storm.
Six parts, built for a roofing firm.
Sold on top of the website: a fixed setup, then a simple monthly plan. Prices on your free call. I fit only the parts you need, in the apps you already use.
Missed calls texted back
Texts back missed and out-of-hours calls. It qualifies a storm or leak call-out and books the visit, including while you're on a roof. It is upfront that it isn't you.
A chat box on your site
Website and WhatsApp enquiries, with the photo and the postcode, land in one list. It answers "do you cover Stockport?" in your words.
Database Reactivation
Wins back old quotes and past customers. Polite follow-ups on quotes that have gone quiet, stopped the moment they reply.
Review Accelerator
Reviews and aftercare. Once a job is marked done, texts or WhatsApps go out in your name. Same day: a thank-you and a Google review link, for every customer. About 3 days later: one nudge if there's no review. About 2 weeks: "Everything still OK with the job?" A problem comes straight to you, as well as the link, never instead of it. At 2 and 6 months: "How's things going?" At 12 months: a check-up or service reminder.
Referral Flywheel
A simple ask, once the job is done, to send someone else your way. No reward scheme invented on this page. The later check-ins in the Review Accelerator keep you in mind first.
Lifetime Value System
Servicing reminders, maintenance plans and seasonal check-ins. Gutters before winter. A look at last year's roof before the next storm season. The 12-month check-up text is part of the Review Accelerator.
Sample wording, not a live client result. You approve every message before it goes out. See how the plans fit together.
Three plans. No prices on this page.
Fixed setup plus a simple monthly plan, priced on your call. Handed over from day one if you pay upfront, or after your 12th monthly payment: a full copy of the files and code, or the site moved into an account in your name. The system runs on the monthly plan.
Foundation
The website, a chat box on your site, and the Review Accelerator. You get found, enquiries are captured, and every customer gets a thank-you, a Google review link, and a check-in later.
Growth
Foundation, plus missed calls texted back and Database Reactivation. Missed and out-of-hours calls get texted back and booked, and old quotes get a follow-up.
Autopilot
Growth, plus the Referral Flywheel, the Lifetime Value System, and a monthly review call with me.
My first job: D & P Roofing.
Roofers and builders in Westhoughton, near Bolton, with 30 years on the tools and 5.0 from 142 reviews on Which?. Their old site didn't show that score. As my first case study, I researched their local competitors and rebuilt the site free to beat them.

What the new site shows
Tap to call and WhatsApp on every screen, the Which? score up front, and photos of their own jobs. Load time on a phone went from 1.2 seconds to 0.6, measured 20 and 21 October 2026.
What's next for them
Out-of-hours replies for emergency leak calls, which they asked for. No results to show yet. I'll publish real numbers when there are some.
Not a promise of your numbers
This is one website, built as a demo. It is not a claim about jobs won. The full write-up, including the local comparison, is on the work page.
A storm call at 2am.
A sample, for a roofer. Not a client result. It uses your wording and your rules.
- 02:14 · Incoming call
- CustomerThe wind's taken the tiles off. Water's coming through the bedroom ceiling.
- Your businessSorry to hear that. I'm answering for the firm, not up on the roof myself. Don't go on the roof. If it's safe, put a bucket under the drip and keep clear of any electrics near the water. What's your postcode?
- CustomerBL3. Can someone come in the morning?
- Your businessYou're booked for 9am. You'll get a reminder. If it gets worse before then, reply URGENT.
- To youUrgent roof leak, bedroom ceiling, BL3. Booked 9am. Photo requested.
Sample conversation. Prices and anything unusual still come to you first.
Roofers first. Not roofers only.
I started here because a missed call on a roof is obvious, and because D & P is the work I can show. Plumbers, sparks and builders get the same kind of hold-ups, and the same system works for them.
If you're not a roofer, the home page and the services page are the general version. The Free Website Check is the same either way.
Bring the missed calls. I'll look.
